SNITKO, Paul – Of Flint, age 82, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at
McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at
the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Todd Meece officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to YMCA of Greater Flint, focusing on their youth sports.
Visitation 3:30-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Paul was born in Flint, Michigan on December 4, 1931, the son of John and Martha (Malarchuk) Snitko.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, basketball and baseball player.
He was a lifelong supporter of local Christian churches and promoter of Flint sports. He was elected into the Flint Sports Hall of Fame.
Mr. Snitko was employed by GM for 27 years, retiring in 1988.
Surviving are children, Paul and wife Nancy of Flushing,
Lisa Midock-Stone of Flint,
John and wife Tammie of Davison,
Mark and wife Linda of Flint;
five grandchildren, Katie Snitko, Charlynn and husband Carlos Stewart, Jenny Midock, Jessica Snitko and Rachel Snitko;
one great-granddaughter, Ava Lason;
one sister, Ann Waske of Swartz Creek;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, on October 23, 2004.
