KETCHAM, Donald Truman – Of Jackson, age 74, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Jackson County Department of Aging.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022 and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Donald was born in West Branch, Michigan on November 21, 1947, the son of the late Ivan and Doris (Winter) Ketcham.
He graduated from Flint Southwestern in 1965.
He served with dignity and honor in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, receiving three Purple Hearts and three Bronze Stars.
Don graduated from MSU, with two Bachelor’s Degrees, one in zoology and one in mechanical engineering.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in the past.
He was a retiree from Consumers Energy after 31 years.
Donald was very passionate about genealogy, investing his time researching the Winter and Ketcham family history.
He loved fishing, fixing anything that was broken and was a very good mechanic. Don was a very intelligent person.
Don was very involved in McFate Group Jackson Relay for Life.
He had a big heart and would help anyone that needed help.
Above all else, Don loved his family.
Surviving are son, Chad David Ketcham; daughter, Tracy Louise (Ketcham) Woodside;
grandchildren, Logan Xavier Ketcham,
Aidan Zander Ketcham, Elijah Zachary Ketcham,
Aley Skylar Ketcham and
Sebastian Keith Woodside;
siblings, David Lynn Ketcham of Flint, Bruce Martin (Janice) Ketcham of Mesa, AZ,
Brian John (Dianne) Ketcham of Huntington, IN and
Brent Michael Ketcham of Flint;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Ketcham of Burton;
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Susan Emily (Donald) Gioventu and brother, Thomas Lee Ketcham.
