CRAVEN, Barbara J. – Of Grand Blanc, age 85, died Monday, May 8, 2023 at Ascension Genesys.
Funeral service will be held 1:30pm Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Nathan Mains officiating.
Visitation 11am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Compassus Hospice.
Barbara was born in Flint, Michigan on February 17, 1938, the daughter of the late Reuben and Agnes (Wordenski) Crandell. On November 20, 1954, she married Boyd Craven Sr. at South Baptist Church in Flint. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to attend family events and cookouts. Family was everything to her.
Surviving are children, Boyd (Donna) Craven Jr. and Cyndy (Mitch) Quirin;
daughter-in-law, Patricia Craven;
9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren;
sister, Joan Tait;
brother, William Crandell;
special brother-in-law, Tommy Craven; and many other loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Sr., son Timothy J. Craven, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
