McNIEL, Janet – of Davison, MI, age 80, passed away on October 10, 2022. A Cremation has taken place. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to an animal shelter of your choice.
Janet was born in Otisville, MI on June 28, 1942, daughter of Yale and Lettie (Lee) Brown. She married Ronald McNiel on April 15, 1961. Janet worked at Sears and Ed’s Supermarket in Otter Lake, MI for a short time before becoming a bank teller. She retired from PNC Bank. Janet enjoyed camping throughout Michigan with her husband, Ronald. She liked bowling and was an avid reader. Janet was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Otter Lake Literary Club. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her son, Jeffery (Patricia) McNiel; son in law, Mark Cummings; 3 grandchildren, Jordan (Stephanie) McNiel, Zachary (Jacqueline) McNiel and Collin (Sarah) Cummings; 3 great grandchildren, Adelaide, Arabella and Lucas; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Yale and Lettie Brown; husband, Ronald McNiel; daughter, Dana Cummings; 2 sister, Phyllis and Frances; 3 brothers, Maynard, Merle and Earnest.
