Of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, with a funeral at 10:30am September 19 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc, Father Joseph Krupp officiating. There will be a visitation starting at 9:30am until the funeral.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.

Jim was born to Helen and Francis King on April 20, 1931. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1950 and received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. He married Julia Steck on October 26, 1957, and they celebrated their 60 year wedding anniversary last year alongside extended family. Jim worked at Flint Osteopathic Hospital for 39 years as a hospital administrator. He provided key leadership in the formation and development of the Genesys Medical Center. Jim set aside time from his working and retirement years to volunteer at Holy Family church and school in Grand Blanc as well as many other civic and community organizations. Jim was very outgoing, had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He made friends easily and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and loved playing games and traveling with family and friends. Above all his family was the most important part of his life. Jim cherished spending time at family gatherings, and the numerous activities of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are wife, Julia King;
children, Larry (Judy), John (Linda), Andy (Cathi), Dan (Sherry) and Tom (Lisa) King;
grandchildren, Chris, Matthew, Alex, Damon, Tim, Sara, Courtney, Brandon and Sean;
sister, Shirley Kline;
aunt, Dawn Thompson;
many nieces and nephews.
