Age 68, of Mt. Morris, passed away in his home on Monday, July 28, 2025. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Dale’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Dale Lee Long was born on August 25, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Myrtle (Matthews) Long. Educated locally, he graduated from Millington High School in 1974. Dale worked as an independent truck driver with Long Trucking for many years before ending his work in 2013. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to rock music, as well as riding motorcycles, hot rods, or anything fast. When he wasn’t busy with work, Dale would utilize his master carpenter skills to build new furniture and projects, often creating brilliant creations. Being mechanically inclined as well, Dale could help anyone fix just about anything. Being a provider at heart, he took pride in ensuring his family was happy and well, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: David and wife, Samantha Flynn, Matthew Long; brother, Donald Long; two grandchildren: Isaiah and Abraham Flynn; as well as many cherished friends and relatives.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Flynn; his parents; brother: David Long; and his sister: Marlene Long. |
