Taylor- Bissell, Doris J. – of Montrose, age 91, died Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Ascension St. Mary’s in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 17, 2021, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Matt Hein officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM until the time of service at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose United Methodist Church or the Montrose Senior Center.
Doris was born September 8, 1930, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, to the late Leo and Eva (Basore) Robinson. She attended Beecher High School. She had resided in Montrose for over 63 years and spent the last 12 years in Fruitland Park, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Bud” Davis on July 12, 2002. She later married Norman Bissell on November 10, 1995. He also preceded her in death on June 2, 2002. Doris was employed as a bus driver with Montrose Community Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was also a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church. Doris was also very active with the Montrose Senior Center and the Montrose Blueberry Festival. She enjoyed Bingo and casinos, baking treats for people she loved, socializing in the community and decorating for holidays. Doris loved deeply, both her Lord Jesus and those around her. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by many.
Surviving are: Children: David Taylor, June Taylor VanAmberg, and Ellen (Ken) Williams; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; She is also survived by members of the Bissell family. Doris was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Miller, and grandson, David Morgan Miller.
