Mr. Jimmie L. Rodgers, 63, of Toledo, OH, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. Annes-Mercy Hospital. He was a graduate of the Edward Drummond Libbey High School, class of 1965 where he excelled in basketball throughout the varsity level attaining all-city honors as well as state honorable mention. He was employed at Johnson Control and prior, more than 20 years at the former Doehler-Jarvis Corporation. Surviving are former spouse, Joanne M. Rodgers; children, Brian and Crystal Rodgers; grandchildren, Blake and Austin Rodgers and the twins, Dorien and Darrien Gregory; mother, Ruby Smith; brothers, Oscar of Cleveland, OH and Leroy Smith; special friend, Mary “Niecie” Evans and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends. Family Hour 3 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Southern MB Church with Funeral Services at 4 p.m. The Reverend Lemuel Quinn, Pastor and Officiant.
