WALTON, Paul E. – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Davison Free Methodist Church, 502 Church Street, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor El Kelley and Pastor Jack French officiating. The family will receive visitors before the service at 11 AM at Davison Free Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association and the Free Methodist Church East Michigan Conference which will be directed to the Covenant Hills, in Paul’s memory.
Paul was born in Flint, MI on August 25, 1934, son of the late Rev. Clayton and Jeanette (Tucker) Walton. He married Flora Sayers on July 1, 1955 in Davison, MI. Paul proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1952 to 1960. He was a member of Davison Free Methodist Church and past-President of the Davison Jaycee’s. Paul was also a member of the Michigan Soft Food Association, Davison Cemetery Board and the Davison Chamber of Commerce. He worked for 17 years at Williams Gun Sight. He retired as the chief of plant security from AC Spark Plug in 1984 and was past owner of the Davison Dairy Delight. Paul was a part of the beginning of the Davison Township Police Dept. in 1956.
Paul is survived by his wife of 67 years, Flora Walton; daughter, Dr. Pamela L. Walton; 2 brothers-in-law, Leland (Jo) Sayers of Knoxville, TN and Vern (Shirley) Sayers of Grand Rapids, MI; many other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Clayton and Jeanette Walton; son, Bryan Walton; 3 brothers, William Walton, Stanley Walton and Sidney Walton; brother-in-law, Burton Sayers; and sister-in-law, Hilda Lauderman.
