Mrs. Barbara Dawson of Millington, Michigan passed away early Tuesday morning June 8, 2021, with her family at her side at the age of 79.
Barb was born September 10, 1941, to Taylor and Leona Crumback. Barbara was married to Edward Dawson for 35 years and together they had two children. Barbara was a teacher at Millington Community Schools for 25 years where she taught at every level but found her niche in the sixth grade, where she finished her career. She was a long-time member of the Millington United Methodist Church. She was fond of reading a good book and baking but most importantly Barbara loved her family and spending every minute she had with them. She will be dearly missed by so many.
Barbara is forever loved by her special friend, BFF, and partner Don Jensen, her children; Mark (Suzanne) Dawson, and Paula (Rodrigo) DeSouza and her sister Suzanne (Larry) Chmielewski; her 5 grandchildren; Robby, Anna, and Joey Dawson, Olivia, and Sofia Fox, and her two step-grandchildren Julia and Rodrigo DeSouza. She also will be missed by her adopted and extended family, her friends, and colleagues. Besides her parents and husband Ed, a brother, Rich, preceded her in death.
The family would like to invite you to the Millington United Methodist Church on Friday, June 18, 2021, for a time of visiting beginning at 12 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. The family has set up a memorial scholarship to be given in Barb’s name to a Millington High School senior wanting to pursue a career in teaching.
