MEARNS, Roger K. - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away, October 10, 2021. Committal Service with Air Force Honors 10 AM Monday, November 29, 2021 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd. Holly. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Rd. Chapel 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Memorial Contributions would be appreciated to the Livonia Goodfellows.
Roger was born, September 9, 1939, the son of Charles and Thelma Mearns. He graduated from Davison High School. Roger proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a Draftsman with Gasser Engineering in Flint for several years. Roger later was employed by GM as a Process Engineer for 30 years at the Ypsilanti Hydromatic Plant. He was a member of The Central Church of the Nazarene in Flint. Roger enjoyed golf, running, and biking.
Roger is survived by: his son, Gary D. Mearns; mother, Thelma Goodall, and several cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by: his father, Charles Mearns; son Kent Mearns; and his significant other, Carol Anne Meagher. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
