MORSE, Robert Allen Sr., beloved father, and husband, died Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility with his cherished family at his side. He was 83 years old.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Frances Morse; 3 loving children Robert Allen Morse Jr., Tammy (Kent) Boylan, and Patricia (Brent Nicholas) Morse; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren he adored; 3 siblings, Dwayne (Dorothy) Morse of North Branch, MI, Marion (Ron) Rhode of Grand Blanc, MI and Frannie Warren of Leesburg, FL; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Florence (Campbell) Morse and 9 siblings.
A lifelong sports fan and athlete, Robert was born Robert Allen Morse Sr. in 1939 in Marlette, Michigan. Robert grew up one of 13 children, six brothers and six sisters. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and married Frances Kennedy on February 11, 1961. He was honorably discharged in 1962 but continued in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for six more years.
After the Air Force, Robert was a well-respected banker and later worked in the mortgage industry. He and Fran lived in Millington and then later Columbiaville, raising three children. In retirement, Robert doted on his five grandchildren and enjoyed playing racquetball and watching his favorite Detroit Tigers. In addition to spending time with family, he also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and hockey in his spare time.
Robert’s cremation has taken place and no Memorial Service will be held. The family would like to thank the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice and Lapeer County Medical Care Facility for their compassion and first rate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
