MAXEY, Charlotte Virginia (Mounts) – of Flint, MI, age 94, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church, 2378 Center Road, Burton, MI 48509; Pastor Andy Auclair and Pastor David Miller co-officiating. Interment 2 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church.
Charlotte was born in Cedar Grove, West Virginia on January 18, 1929, daughter of the late Carl and Violet (Connard) Mounts. In January 1951, Charlotte moved from West Virginia to Detroit, MI. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church for over 50 years. Charlotte enjoyed crocheting, traveling the United States and watching her great-grandsons ballgames. She was a great cook and always strived to make everyone feel loved and special.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Hucie Maxey; 2 daughters, Patricia (Howard) Romberger and Sharry (Craig) Smith; 2 granddaughters, Jodi Aboneaaj and Stacia (Jeff) Snider; 5 great-grandchildren, Carson Aboneaaj, Camryn Aboneaaj, Cole Aboneaaj, Sullivan Snider and Dominic Snider; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Violet Mounts; son, Terry Lee Maxey and brother, Eugene Mounts.
