LUCK, Orville Duane – of Clio, age 96, died Monday, October 24, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 31, 2022 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 Am until the time of service at Messiah Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or Carriage Town Ministries.
Orville was born September 15, 1926 at home in Genesee Township to the late John and Lela (Brown) Luck. He grew up in the Beecher neighborhood and attended Beecher High School. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW II from 1944 to 1946. On January 31, 1948 he married Jacqueline Lou Campbell in Flint, Michigan and she preceded him in death in 2008. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Orville worked for Buick Motor Division-GM in Skilled Trades with 42 years of service. Orville was a member of the UAW Local 599 and Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and going to tournaments with his wife all over the United States. Orville was an avid woodworker, and liked taking care of his lawn. He was also an animal lover and loved his families dogs, Josie, Libby, and Hopper. However, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Daughter, Linda (Roger) McCarron; Grandchildren, Jon (Becky) McCarron, Joe (Kristina) McCarron; Great Grandchildren, Morgan McCarron, Meghan McCarron, Elizabeth Lamb, Erin (Cody) Ford; Brother in law, William “Bud” Varner; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Jacqueline Luck; Siblings, Harold Luck, Warren Luck, Florence Hall, Marilyn Varner.
