JONES, James Harold "Jim" -- Age 77, of Burton, died April 7, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday April 16 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 353 E. Vienna Road, Clio. Pastor Cathi officiating. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday April 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel , 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.
Jim was born November 9, 1943 in Flint the son of Dewey and Lillian (Brennecke) Jones He married Carol Corder in 1964. He was employed at GM retiring in 1999 with 37 years of service. He also worked with his son James for nearly 20 years in their lawn care business, Acorn Lawn Care. Jim was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and served as a trustee. He enjoyed the out doors and running and walking. He ran several Crim Races, the Detroit Free Press Marathon, and countless other races.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Jones; son, James Jones ( fiancee, Heather Geary); granddaughter, Laylah; future granddaughter, Hailey; many special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
