FORYS, Virginia – of Flint, formerly of Marlette and Clifford, age 92, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, at Stonegate Health Campus in Lapeer. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 12 Noon Monday, February, 28, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM-2PM and 4-7PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Liturgy on Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Memorial Service and Rosary under the auspices of the Daughters of Isabella will be held 6 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County, in Virginia’s memory.
Virginia was born in Detroit, MI on May 22, 1929, daughter of the late John and Magdalena Skorupski. She married Peter Forys on November 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1985. Virginia worked many years at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint as a nurse’s aide. She was of member of the Daughters of Isabella, Red Hat Society, Davison VFW Auxiliary and UAW Local 599 Retiree Group.
Virginia is survived by her children, John (Kay) Forys and Fred (Beth) Forys; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Forys, Kelly (Jeff) Williams, Stacy (Josh) Evans and Megan (Luke) Avery; 6 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Nolan, Ella, Jack, Bennett and Emalyn; and many other loving family members and friends.
