Carrigan, Michael W. - Age 77, of Flint Twp., passed away on July 16, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint, MI 48532. Reverend Father Anthony Strouse celebrant. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest in 9:30 AM Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will take place 4-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. During the visitation, a rosary will be prayed in his honor at 7 PM Tuesday. Michael, born on September 26, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, was the beloved son of William and Margaret (Tufts) Carrigan. He attended Mt. Morris High School and graduated with the class of 1964. Michael then bravely served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Navy. On June 24, 1972, Michael married the love of his life, Sharleen Lazenga in Flint. He dedicated many years of his life to working at Buick and Fisher Body I. Michael found great comfort and strength in his faith and was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Additionally, he was involved with the Knights of Columbus. Michael had a passion for mentoring young individuals and served as a Boy Scout Leader. He was also an esteemed member of both the VFW and UAW organizations. Left to cherish Michael's memory is his beloved wife Sharleen; adoring son Paul M.Carrigan; two loving sisters Margaret Byers and Shirley O'Berry; as well as several nieces and nephews who were deeply touched by his presence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, National Kidney Foundation, or the University of Michigan Transplant Department. The family extends a special thank you to Linda and Kurt Walters, Right to Home, Letrese Jones and Pat Hawkins.
