Wayne Sedlow, 81, lifelong Clio resident, passed away on December 7, 2021. Wayne was born May 28, 1940 and grew up on the farm his ancestors carved from the wilderness in 1848, and he remained a worthy steward of his homeplace until his death. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Carol J. Freeland officiating. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
A 1958 graduate of Clio High School, Wayne went on to attend Central Michigan University where he obtained his teaching degree and subsequently secured a position as a math teacher with the Beecher School District. He remained at Beecher in the capacity as either teacher or counselor until his well earned retirement from those hallowed halls of academia after 35 years of service. In 1963, he married Karen Bond, with whom he had two sons, David and Ryan, of whom he was exceedingly proud.
Wayne was an ardent hunter, fisherman, and golfer who never had a bad day while pursuing those passions. He was an excellent raconteur who regaled his listeners with amusing stories of the adventures he had while enjoying those pursuits, as well as his years as an educator. All who were acquainted with Wayne knew him to be witty and gregarious, as well as kind-hearted, and generous. He will be sorely missed by many.
Preceded in death by his parents Vernon Sedlow and Viva, (neé Sturdivant), Wayne is survived by his former wife, Karen Underwood, his sons David and Ryan and their wives Elise and Kim, as well as two dear grandchildren, Dasha and Edik, and great grandson Nickoli.
