Bolesta, Dolores Mary, (Kotcher/Kaczorowski) of Midlothian, Virginia, formerly of Flushing, age 93, passed away peacefully after her morning coffee on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the at the incredible age of 93. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the Mass at 11a.m. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Dolores was born in Detroit, MI to parents, Edward and Mary (Kroll) Kotcher, and spent her early years surrounded by her siblings and cousins in Detroit and northern Michigan. Dolores met her husband, Donald Bolesta while roller skating, and they married on December 4, 1951. They moved to Flushing, Michigan in 1972, where they resided for nearly 50 years and were members of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Parish. Dolores was a key punch operator at Seaboard Railroad, Flint Osteopathic Hospital, and IBM for many years, claiming with pride that she was “a darn good keypuncher” known among her coworkers as “flicker fingers”. She was an avid cook, loved a good game of poker and took great joy in reading (her collection of books was endless!). She spent the last two years of her life in Virginia bringing a smile to all those she met.
Dolores is survived by children, Paul and wife Ann Bolesta and Diane Fondren; grandchildren, Jessica and husband Joe Ward, Don and wife Mandi Fondren, Emily Bolesta; and great-granddaughter, Mia Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas and David Kotcher; husband, Don; son, Lawrence Bolesta; and son-in-law, Steve Fondren.
