Matthew James Grice, 63 of Holly, was called to his heavenly home, on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was born on April 8, 1961 in Pontiac, Michigan to Cleo Lois (Peters) Grice and Gordon J. Grice. He grew up in Davisburg, Michigan and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1979. He attended Michigan Technological University and was a member of the Air Force ROTC and Lambda Chi Fraternity. Matthew married Marguerite (Jaroche) Grice on July 26, 1986. Matthew joined the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier in Byron, Michigan and served that community until his passing. Matthew was also a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the Durand Sportsmans Club. He was an avid reader and collector of knowledge and loved to share what he learned with others.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite (Jaroche) Grice and his daughters Deirdre Grice and Desiree Grice; his mother Lois Grice; his siblings Anita Lamb and Laura Ponkey and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gordon J. Grice and grandparents.
Contributions in Matthew’s memory can be made to Medical Team Hospice or Holly Area Youth Assistance.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
