Betty was born in Mt. Morris, MI on March 31, 1933, daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Schofield) Sweers. On December 7, 1952, Betty married the love of her life, Wayne Forystek Jr., in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Their union was one of love and devotion, lasting until Wayne’s passing on April 13, 2001. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and faith. Betty was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, MI, and Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas, MI. Her faith was a guiding light, shaping her into a beacon of kindness and compassion for everyone who knew her. Betty was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in gardening, cultivating beauty and life wherever she went. Her skilled hands created intricate works of crochet, each stitch a symbol of her patience and creativity. A lover of antiques, she appreciated the charm and history they carried. An avid reader, she could often be found lost in the pages of a favorite book. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she delighted in cooking enough food to feed an army. With every meal, she nourished not only her family’s bodies but also their souls. Known as a “social butterfly,” Betty had a gift for bringing people together, her laughter and warmth creating bonds that will be remembered forever. Above all, Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her time spent with them was filled with love, stories, and treasured memories. Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Betty is survived by 3 children, Daniel Forystek, Amy (Scott) Hocevar and Mary Ann (Greg, Sr.) Pingot; 3 grandchildren, Heather (Winston) Ames, Gregory (Rebecca) Pingot, Jr. and Carson Hocevar; 2 great-grandchildren, Isaac Pingot and Lily Pingot; 4 siblings, Lucille Carpenter, Charlotte Forystek, Joyce (Ron) Sweers and David Sweers; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Sweers; parents-in-law, Wayne and Pauline (Andrews) Forystek, Sr. and her husband, Wayne Forystek, Jr.
