Batey, JoAnn, age 80, passed away Friday morning, March 15, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Florian (Sonny) Promowicz.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill Batey, sons Scott (Tracey) and Ryan (Sarah) Batey and grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, Jack and Brooke Batey. She is also survived by brother Terry (Carryl) Promowicz and many nieces and nephews, and
countless friends.
JoAnn was full of life who always made time for others. She lit
up a room when she entered and made everyone feel special. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was fiercely loyal to them and they to her.
She was born on April 21, 1943 in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Northern High School. She attended Mott Community College and after raising her children as a stay-at-home mom she went back to her career as an Account Analysis where she worked more than 30 years before retiring. In retirement she and Bill
moved to Florida where she lived more than 25 years.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St, Flint, MI 48504. Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in JoAnn’s memory are suggested to: St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
