Sies, Betty Marie of Clio, age 97, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Living Joy of Flushing. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Betty was born in Flint, Michigan on November 11, 1925, the daughter of Vern and Nellie (Viers) Roth. She married Elmer Carl Sies on April 26, 1947, in Ohio. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2001. Betty was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She had previously worked at the Walter Winchester Hospital in Flint. Betty enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her greatest joy was her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Kenneth and wife Sonja Sies of Burton, Calvin and wife Rose Sies of Flint, Judith and husband Michael Frost of Swartz Creek; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Brady Sies; sisters, Dorothy, Rumsey, Patsy Roth, Verna Pepitone, and infant sister, Bonnie. |
