Helen Anna Pickard, of Flushing, Michigan, age 98, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing. Pastor Bob Scott will officiate. Burial to follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Rossell Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Helen was born in Flint, Michigan on May 17, 1925, to John and Anna Ringler. She married Wilbert J. Pickard on March 22, 1946. Helen was a proud, lifetime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was also a member of American Women in Business and the Germans from Russia society. Helen enjoyed volunteering at McLaren Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Karin) Pickard of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Rick (Connie) Pickard of Swartz Creek, Michigan, and Holly (Douglas) Leonard of Oviedo, Florida; grandchildren, Sean (Christina) Pickard of South Lyon, Michigan, Brendan Pickard of Highland, Michigan, Jennifer (Mariusz) Leszczynski of Ashford, Connecticut, Ryan Pickard of Swartz Creek, Michigan, Matthew (Meredith) Pickard of Gunbarrel, Colorado, Adam (Manuela) Leonard of Wiirzbach, Germany, and Jason Leonard of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Emily and Oliver Leszczynski, Joshua and Henry Leonard, and Noah Pickard; sister, Donna (Norman) Storms; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert J. Pickard; sister, Mary Storms; and brothers, John and Robert Ringler. |
