Toman, Barbara June- of Clio, age 91, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Maple Woods Manor surrounded by her family. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 11AM until 6PM final prayer will be held at 5:45PM. Cremation will follow.

Barbara was born April 27, 1931, in Arbyrd, Missouri to the late Elijah and Rosetta (Eubanks) Goodrich. She married the love of her life, Boyd Toman on October 7, 1946, she became a widow at 36 years old with 5 children to raise on her own. Barbara always said, “Children are my best achievement, and my grandchildren are the reward.” She got busy and found work at Genesee Memorial Hospital, where she began in the cafeteria and worked her way up to the physical therapy department. Barbara worked there with her youngest daughter, Deanna and retired after 25 years. She enjoyed the outdoors immensely, bird watching, camping, hunting, and fishing, she especially enjoyed picking berries and morel mushrooms. Her hunting and fishing scores were up there pretty high.

Barbara had many other loved hobbies such as reading, playing euchre, coloring, knitting, and crocheting. She learned how to use a computer to play games online and stay in touch with her family on Facebook. She was a member of the Eastern Stars. Barbara loved to travel. She has visited most of the states and took a trip to England. She even learned to fly an airplane, rode in a helicopter and a hot air balloon. She was a great mother, and grandmother who will be missed by many. Most of all she enjoyed being with family. She was blessed with 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Barbara also had a very special relationship with her children’s spouses.

Surviving are: Children: Barb (Jim) Figgins, Loyd Toman; Son-in-law: Bill Thorn; Daughter- in-law: Dawn Toman; Many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and some great great grandchildren. She is preceded in passing by her husband, Boyd Toman; sisters: Betty Faye Goodrich, Jewel Whitmore, and Rose Morse; sons: Boyd Toman and, Floyd Toman; daughter, Deanna Thorn.
