KURYS, Genevieve (Pyrc) “Jennie” – of Davison, age 99, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Stonegate Health Campus in Lapeer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3-7 PM on Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM on Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East, in Genevieve’s memory.
Genevieve was born in McKees Rocks, PA on January 3, 1924, daughter of the late John and Helen (Complac) Pyrc. She married Morris “Morrie” Kurys on February 2, 1944 and he preceded her in passing on November 16, 2007. Jennie and Morrie enjoyed being together always. They loved attending Morrie‘s army reunion held in various states as well as winters spent in Myrtle Beach and Florida. Jennie was an excellent cook and loved making big meals for her family. She was a lovely, gracious lady and will be dearly missed.
Jennie is survived by her loving children, JoAnn (Philip) Rodery, Toni (Patrick) Bruff and Renee (David) Wilson; grandchildren, Matthew, Gina, Natalie, Erica (Scott) and Jordan (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Aubree, Sydney, Aiden, Alayna, Louis and Elliot; sister, Lottie Ondo; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Marcie and siblings, Wanda, Celia, Stella, Steffie, Bernard, Joey, John “Tom” and Ray.
