VLAZ, Ted Gustave – of Clio, age 77, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his residence. The family will receive visitors on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan will follow the visitation at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ted was born April 17, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to the late Gustave and Eunice (Heathron) Vlaz. He grew up in the Beecher neighborhood. In his younger years he loved to go to Beaver Lake and water ski. He served his country in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964. On July 1, 1974 he married Tena M. Cross in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Ted was the Owner and Operator of the Genesee Valley Motors for 25 years prior to his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, woodworking, and baseball. Ted liked being outdoors and loved animals, especially his dogs.
Surviving are: Wife of 47 years, Tena Vlaz; Son, Ted (Holly) Vlaz II; and several special friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents. Please sign our guestbook or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
