BURCHETT, Diane Kay (Stokes) – of Davison, MI, age 63, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Jason Crum officiating. Inurnment immediately following the service in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in Diane’s memory.
Diane was born in Flint, MI on February 22, 1958, daughter of Janet (Allen) Stokes and the late Charles J. Stokes. She was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1976. Diane married George Eric Burchett on November 28, 1981 in Davison, MI. She retired from General Motors after 29 years of service. Diane enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Diane was also a natural caregiver, always putting others needs above her own.
Diane is survived by her mother, Janet L. Stokes; husband, George Eric Burchett; 2 brothers, Timothy (Bonnie) Stokes and David (Leslie) Stokes; 2 brothers-in-law, Alex Burchett and Jeff Burchett; nephew, Nicholas Stokes; 4 nieces, Sarah Bessolo, Kristen McClain, Kelsey Stokes and Caitlin (Dan) Murdock; great-nephews and nieces, Jack and Isabell McClain, Sophia and Gabby Stokes, Luke Bessolo and Cameron Murdock; chosen sister and best friend, Dianne McGeathy; honorary niece and nephew, Nicole (Brandon) Eagan and Nathan (Kristina) McGeathy; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles J. Stokes and brother, James D. Stokes.
