Elizabeth "Liz" Jean Schautz
Age 96 of Durand passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 12pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel with Rev. John Walworth officiating. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am until the time of service. A luncheon will be served at the American Legion, 201 E Mason Street following the service.
Liz was born March 28, 1922 in Shaftsburg; the daughter of Guy and Jennie (Brower) Robinson.
She graduated from Perry High School, class of 1940.
Elizabeth married Alwyn C. Schautz in Shaftsburg on May 6, 1944; he predeceased her on April 17, 1994.
She was interested in many projects, 4-H program and her and my dad did many a chicken dinners throughout the county. The Humane Society, Art Council, Conservation Club, where she got involved with the Education Program. Her calling was the Owosso Farmers Market, which she ran for 29 years. I really do think she just loved the title, Market Master. She had great fun going to Council meetings, and giving her opinion, on just about everything.
Liz is survived by her daughter Margie and son-in-law Jack Ebe of Owosso; special friends Sally Sue Gale, Bonnie and Don Galsek, Linda and Terry Kemp and her blessed guardian angel Mary Semke; dear friends and family who have gone on, Grace Hollenback, Marie Caverson, Ann Ruttman and cousin Elna Thatcher and her husband Ray. Mom thought so much of all of them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Al, her parents and 2 brothers and their wives Bob (Jane) Robinson and Kenneth (Thelma) Robinson.
