Died: 11/10/2010
Age: 85
Community: Oregon, OH

Pearl Bernice Cooper entered into the presence of her Lord, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family. Pearl was born August 3, 1925 in Jellico TN to Rev. Melvin and Emma (Lynch) Weaver. She married J.D. Cooper August 23, 1947. They moved North to find work, settling in Toledo in 1950. Pearl was a stay-at-home wife and Mother. Her family was her life. She always took the smallest portion and did the largest share of the work. Pearl was a charter member of East Toledo Baptist Church. In recent years Hope Community was her home church. She loved sewing, quilting and picked a mean guitar as well as playing the fiddle and mandolin. She was the glue that held us together. Life will forevermore be changed.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, J.D. (Dillard); daughter, Goldie (Dr. Joses) Yuan; granddaughter, Tammy (Craig) Strahl; grandson, Jonathan (Lisa) Trost; (her darlin’s) great-grandchildren Nicholas Strahl, A. J., Maddie, and Nathan Trost; brothers: Rev. John Weaver, Owingsville KY and Henry Arvil Weaver, Warren MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Virgil, Cecil, Estel, Jim, Hersul; sisters: Hazel Davis, Goldie Creekmore and five infant siblings.
Family and friends may visit Sunday, Nov. 14 from 2-9 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Brandon Williams, officiating. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hope Community Church of the Nazarene.
