Marguerite Dehmel of Flushing, age 84, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Living Joy of Flushing. Cremation has taken place. There are no services scheduled. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Marguerite was born in Flint, MI on April 30, 1929, the daughter of Andrew and Eva (Germaine) Severn. She married Walter James Dehmel on October 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1983.
Marguerite sold real estate for many years in the Flint area and also worked for the Carman School District as a lunch lady. She loved sweepstakes and enjoyed her many prizes including trips and a VW Beetle. She enjoyed casinos and playing Bingo and loved animals.
Mrs. Dehmel is survived by: three children, James and wife Beverly Dehmel of Tennessee, Debbie and husband Matt Wojtkowicz of Owosso, Diane and husband Steve Michelin of Flushing; grandchildren, Amanda, Ericka, Michael, Meagan, Marcus, Jamie, Nicole and Johnathon; great-grandchildren, Sydnea, Ella, Maia, Christopher, Nicholas, Marissa, Alex and Jacob. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole.
