BYCE, Ormal James “Jim” – of Flint, MI, age 93, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in Jim’s memory.
Jim was born in South Branch, MI on January 31, 1929, son of the late Louis and Florence (Godden) Byce. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1952. Jim married Helen Griffin on May 15, 1954 in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on February 23, 2015. He retired from General Motors in 1991 after 40 years of service. Jim was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by 3 children, Greg (Karen) Byce, Cindy (Jody) Robison and Dan (Jennifer) Byce; 6 grandchildren, Jamie (Tom) Harmon, Kellie (Brent) LaFramboise, Brett (Becky) Robison, Sarah (Nate) Tabler, Sarah (Bob) Russeau and Zach Adcock; 10 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Florence Byce; wife, Helen Byce and 4 siblings.
