Funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dexter Clarke, Officiating.
Visitation will be held at 11am Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Ms. Lita Mae Dennis took her first breath in High Point, North Carolina, to parents Robert and Mae Dennis and subsequently came under guardianship and received continued care under her loving Aunt, Ms. Bettie Johnson.
Ms. Lita Mae Dennis was affiliated with the Baldwin Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church in High Point, North Carolina. After her transition to Michigan, she continued her church affiliation with the Eternal Life, First Flint and Fairhaven Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Flint, Michigan.
Lita really enjoyed watching DVDs and playing the memory game. She loved going to church. She had a beautiful spirit that went along with her beautiful personality. She left a lasting impression on the lives of those who had the privilege of meeting her. Lita’s memory will be cherished, and she will be sadly missed. She lived a life full of love and unwavering support.
A second service for Lita Mae will be held at Triad Cremation and Funeral Services, 2110 Servomation Rd, Greensboro, North Carolina; Repast to follow; date and time still pending. Her final resting place will be in the Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, North Carolina, until Christ returns, to grant her final reward.
Ms. Lita Mae Dennis leaves to cherish her sweet memory: Aunt and Guardian, Ms. Bettie Johnson of Fenton, Michigan, Brothers, Robert Dennis, Jr, Anthony L. Dennis, Tyrone Dennis, Uncle Samuel Stokes, Jr., all of North Carolina; Aunts, Kathleen Otey and Lillie M. Dennis; Special Cousin, Katrina Otey; Special Nieces, Makaylah Allen and Jaqulla Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lita Mae was lovingly cared for by her aunt, Bettie Johnson and Devoted Caregiver, Tiffany Webb, who is like a member of the family, until she took her last breath at home lovingly supported with many thanks to McLaren Hospice Care. Thank you also to Dr. Grewal from the Karmanos Cancer Institute, Flint, Michigan.
Lita Mae was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mae Dennis, and both sets of grandparents.
Memorial Contributions include the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Autism Society of America.
Repast to follow the August 21, 2026, 12:00 Noon Memorial Service at First Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church, G-4285 Beecher Rd Flint, Michigan 48532.
Funeral service will be held at 12noon on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Triad Cremation and Funeral Services in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
