AMY, Alta E. – Of Flushing, age 95, died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Living Joy Assisted Living.
Private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Alta was born in Whittemore, Michigan on November 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Edith Graham and William Thompson and step-father, Dio Hunt.
She graduated high school and married Ward L. Amy on October 19, 1946 in Flint and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church and a longtime member of Parkland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Amy was employed by Genesee Radiology as the Office Manager.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, baking, cooking and entertaining friends and family. Her passion was being with family.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was her world.
Surviving are sons, Scott, Lee and Chuck; daughter, Dru. Also surviving are 8 wonderful grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beverly Thompson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Amy; brother, Dale Thompson; sister, Betty Hollaway; brother-in-law, Charles Amy and Ann Amy.
The family would like to thank the longtime caregivers at Abbey Park Assisted Living, Cottage of Davison Assisted Living and most of all the angels at Loving Joy Memory Care.
