KOCH, William Conrad - Of Holly, age 91, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at His Caring Arms in Holly.
Funeral service will be held 11:30am Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 South Ballenger Highway, Flint,
Pastor David Hensler officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8pm Monday and 1-3pm and 5-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 11am Wednesday at church until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Boy Scout Troop #212 in Fenton, MI.
William was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 10, 1925, the son of the late William and Alma (Jech) Koch. On April 2, 1949, he married Ellen E. Butcher in Flint and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2007. William served in the United States Navy on the USS Saginaw Bay Aircraft Carrier and served in the South Pacific and was involved in the liberation of the Philippines during World War II. He enjoyed being involved with the Reunion Group yearly. William was employed with Buick for 37 years, retiring in 1980. He was a Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of Post 158. William was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church serving as an Elder, Usher and Trustee.
Surviving are sons, Gregory and Bradley (Debra Koch;
grandchildren, Kaitlynne Koch and Mitchell Koch;
sisters, Mable Galbraith and Dorothy (Herman) Bandy;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Harmsen, Helen Johnson and Marion Robbins and brother, Donald Koch.
