MACZKA, RICHARD- Of Bay City formerly of Grand Blanc, age 79, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at McLaren Bay Region.
Memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Visitation will be at 11am Saturday until the time of the service.
Dick was born in Gladwin, Michigan on November 19, 1946, the son of the late Frank and Blanche Maczka.
He honorably served in the Michigan National Guard.
Dick married Carrie Sutton on August 16, 1969.
Dick graduated from Handy High School in Bay City, Class of 1965. After high school Dick attended Flint Junior College where he met Carrie. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. Dick was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church. His passion was spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family.
He retired from General Motors in 2006.
Dick is survived by his wife Carrie; 2 sons Kevin and wife Carissa Maczka, Steven Maczka; 2 grandchildren Andrew and Elizabeth; brother Allan Maczka; sister Melinda (Mark) McEmber; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Emil Maczka.
