Randy Dean Vincent, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023, in Flint, Michigan. He was born on July 6, 1953, to Clayton and Lucille (Miller) Vincent in Columbiaville, MI where he grew up and returned later in life to live out his final years. Randy was known for his infectious smile, unwavering positivity, and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, loved him, and rode alongside him in his pursuit for happiness.
Randy is remembered by his children Nicholas Vincent and Chelsea Pickelman. Grandpa Randy will be forever missed by his adored grandchild Lucy who gave him 5 years of beloved memories. He was also a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda (Lloyd) Weatherwax, brother Daryl Vincent, and partner Lisa Strong. All of whom are most likely enjoying a game of cards together in their chosen heavens.
Randy was a hardworking and dedicated employee, retiring from General Motors after decades of service. His tenure at GM began at Truck and Bus in Pontiac, MI and ended in Spring Hill, TN at Saturn. He was also a proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW). Randy recently shared that his most enjoyable days as an employee were spent on the infamous docks of Larry’s Marine on the Holloway Reservoir.
Throughout his life, Randy was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous where he achieved decades of sobriety and built life-long friendships. At the historic Clover School in Lapeer, Randy chaired AA meetings where he supported others in recovery alongside his closest friends including the late and never forgotten Harry South. Randy's involvement in AA was a source of great pride and accomplishment, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched in the organization.
Randy was always ready for the open road on his Harley or in his truck. When not on the road, he could be found at Ray C’s in Lapeer taking advantage of free coffee and shooting the breeze with customers and employees alike. He loved golfing with his late brother Daryl and was a talented softball player and avid hunter earlier in life. Randy’s fondest memories are those spent water skiing and tubing with his children on the beautiful waters of Tims Ford Lake in Tennessee. In quieter moments, Randy enjoyed playing cards and drinking coffee with his late sister Linda, watching the Tigers, shooting pool, and enjoying a slice of pizza.
The family would like to extend immense appreciation to his caretaker and friend, Tonya, for her compassionate care of Randy as well as the staff at the Sugarbush House and nurses of Heartland Hospice. Their dedication and support were of great comfort to Randy and his loved ones during his final months.
In remembering Randy Dean Vincent, we celebrate a life well-lived with unshakeable positivity and a passion for living in the moment. He was the life of the party, always smiling and eager to share a laugh or a story with those around him. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. As we reflect on the joy he brought to our lives, we are reminded of the importance of cherishing the moments we share with one another. Rest in peace, Randy. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Love you dad.
