It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Louise Germaine on August 30, 2021. Shirley, age 86, peacefully passed away at home in the company of her husband, Hazen Germaine of 62 years.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 4444 W. Bristol Rd. Ste. 320, Flint, MI. 48407 (810) 230-0127.
Visitation 2-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Her parents, Francis and Marcella Underwood, welcomed her into this world on January 1, 1935 in Mount Morris, Michigan. Being the third of six children, Shirley had the love of a large family. She had 4 sisters and 1 brother (Janet, Imogene, Nancy, Deanna and Jerry). In January, 1959, she married Hazen Germaine in Davison. Shirley and Hazen continued that love with their 4 children, (Todd Germaine, Timothy Germaine, Lisa Kennedy and Erica Germaine), 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She has been the center of our lives for many joyous and memorable years. Her loving nature, infectious laugh and warm smile will be greatly missed. She now joins our Lord and Savior along with her parents, her sisters (Janet, Imogene and Deanna) and her daughter (Erica). Her memory will live long in our hearts and in the many happy stories that our family shares together.
