Marilyn Mae Stanick was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on October 15, 2022. She was born to Wilbur and Gloria Vasold in Freeland, Michigan on January 15, 1936. After graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1955, Marilyn worked for Hicks Studios in Saginaw as a portrait artist and met her husband, Gerald Stanick. Together they had three daughters, Sabrina, Stephanie and Shelly. Marilyn and Gerald settled in Flint to raise their family. Marilyn loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking for her family, and entertaining friends. She was known for hosting a holiday dinner or party, making it look effortless. Her faith was a pillar in her life, and she shared her faith, love, and support with everyone she encountered. Marilyn had a lifelong group of friends affectionately known as “The Card Club.” Six ladies, who were dear friends for more than 55 years, they shared many adventures and memories.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by her loving family, Sabrina Feiten (Tom), Stephanie Connolly (Coley) and Shelly Amick (Gary) as well as her grandchildren who were the light of her life – Patrick (Amy) Feiten, Hannah (Joseph) Webb, Olivia Feiten, Parker and Luke Connolly. Marilyn’s kindness, energy, and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Please join us celebrating her life Friday November 4, 2022 at 11:00 am, at First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham (1669 W. Maple Road, Birmingham MI). The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am. A luncheon for family and friends will immediately follow.
