NELSON, Herbert M. – Of Clio, age 79, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Visitation 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Herbert was born in the Ozark Mountains of Batesville, Arkansas on August 4, 1942, the son of the late Elden and Vela (Fair) Nelson.
He graduated from Lyon College in 1964 and was employed by GM for 40+ years.
He honorably served his county in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Pam Schlosser of Ypsilanti and Sandy Carpenter of Ann Arbor;
grandchildren, Julian and Nick Schlosser, Aimee and husband Matthew Bergstresser, Katie and husband Kevin Krull and Miranda, Bridget and Brandon Carpenter;
4 great-grandchildren, Daxton, Xander and Grayson Krull and Everly Carpenter;
2 brothers, Robert (Sue) Nelson and Ray (Cathy) Nelson;
special friend, Audrey Howell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Nelson and nephew, Charles Nelson.
