FILPANSICK, Helen Anna. – of Clio and Mt. Morris, age 89, received her angel wings on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11AM until 9PM, a service will be held at 6:30 by the Ladies Auxiliary #1452 followed by a Scripture Service at 7PM. Helen will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:30AM until the time of service at 10:30AM. Contributions may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, Clio Ladies Auxiliary #1452, or the charity of one’s choice.

Helen was born on August 16, 1925 in Flint, MI to the late John and Anna (Pajor) Puchala. She was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Morris High School. Helen married Charles Filpansick Jr. on July 5, 1948 in Flint, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2001. Helen was an avid member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church and lived according to her Catholic upbringing with a strong faith in God. She was a member of the Clio Ladies Auviliary #1452. Helen was the proud owner of Filpansick Pond and would encourage the VFW, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Catholic Charities to carry on with their traditions and events as they have in the past. She loved flowers, gardening and birds. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and was very proud of her Polish heritage. Above all, Helen enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Helen was the type of lady that could light up a room with her smile. She was the most loving and giving person who was full of kindness and always had a warm happy heart. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Surviving are: children; Charles, James, Thomas, Marjorie, Judy, Deborah and their spouses; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends.
