Kirt Wyatt Smith of Burton, age 59, died Thursday January 20, 2022 at Ascension-Genesys Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, with Pastor Ben Gonzales officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 4 -7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Kirt’s memory to the family or Hansen Funeral Home.
Kirt was born in Lapeer Michigan on July 26, 1962 the son of Richard and Roberta (Shaver) Smith and had resided in the Lapeer area for many years. He later relocated to the Davison-Burton area. He was a graduate of Faith Bible Baptist, and a member of the Lapeer Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a family man who loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, snowmobiling and the speed of dirt bikes. He had been employed by the Eaton Corporation until his retirement.
Surviving are sons: Cody and wife Felecia Smith, and Jake and wife Allison Smith, His loving grandchildren; Aubree, Madison, Wyatt, and Oliver. He also leaves his mother Roberta and Edsel Britting, brothers Rick and wife OnaLee Smith, Eddie and wife Angel Britting, sister Cindy and husband Anthony Fischer, his step-mom Virginia Smith, step-siblings; Jerome and wife Betty Britting, Gary and wife Danna Schaaf, Judy Frizzell, and his loving companion and dog Duke, and a host of extended family and friends.
