Robert L. Peiffer, 86, passed away at the Genoa Retirement Village on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Robert was born to Leo and Pearl (Decker) Peiffer on April 25, 1924 in Genoa, Oh. He was a self-employed farmer most of his life. He married Grace and together they raised five children. He liked to hunt and was a hard worker. His family was the love of his life and will miss him deeply.
Surviving Robert is his wife of 61 years, Grace; children: Karen (Al) Rerko, Robert (Cheryl) Peiffer, Jr., Leo (Phyllis) Peiffer, Colleen (Branch) Colvin, Paul (Carol) Peiffer; 11 grandchildren; 6 3/4 great-grandchildren; brothers: George, and William (Marge) Peiffer; sisters: Pat (Joe) Markowski, Barb (Doug) Fowler and Bernie (Norman) Riffle. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; brother, Vincent Peiffer and sisters: Mary Biggins, Jane Pettycrew and Loretta Sloan.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at St. Jerome Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Jerome, or donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Freck Funeral Chapel.
