MCCLENDON, SAMUEL S., SR. – Of Flint, age 68, died Sunday, July 2, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the funeral home.
Samuel was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 3, 1954, the son of
Fred and Frances (Roberts) McClendon.
He served in the US Marine Corps.
Surviving are son, Samuel S., Jr. (Cassidy) McClendon of Flint;
grandchildren, Gabrielle, Lilian, Annabelle, Samuel III and Mary Jane;
daughter, Amber (Jeremy) Taylor of Burton; grandchildren, Carter, Alexander and Trenton;
sister, Candace Hallett of Saginaw;
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, James R. McClendon; parents, Fred and Frances McClendon; sister, Mary Ann Hudson; brothers, Steve and Randy McClendon.
