COULTER, John C. “Magic Jack” – of Davison, age 78, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Otisville, MI 48463; Pastor Garry Beecher and Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Interment immediately following in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 12 PM until the time of service on Monday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Russellville Wesleyan Church or Richfield Church of the Nazarene, in John’s memory.
Jack was born in Flint, MI on July 28, 1942, son of the late Francis and Marguerite (Ranger) Coulter. He married Bonny Webb on August 10, 1963 in Flint, MI. Jack retired from GM in 1994 after 30 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was known most of his life as “Magic Jack” from his performances of gospel magic at churches, banquets and scout meetings. His infectious enthusiasm and ability to “ham it up” won over his audiences. Jack dedicated his life to church and family. He spent many years as a Sunday School Teacher, Junior Church and Youth Leader with his wife, Bonny. He also served on the church board at Russellville Wesleyan Church. More recently, he volunteered at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene Upward Program. Jack enjoyed camping, fishing and helping others. He loved bowling on Wednesday Senior Bowling League for over 20 years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bonny Coulter; his favorite son, John (Esther) Coulter; his favorite daughter, Kim (Greg) Mawer; loving grandchildren, James Marsh, Kyle Marsh, Maggie Coulter, Sabrina (Cody) Rhinehart, Patrick Coulter, Max Coulter; great-grandson, Jaxson Marsh; many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pat McFarland and brother, Jim Coulter.
