FIKE, Walter F. – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 12:30 PM Monday, February 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Michael Cheng and Rev. Shane Bengry co-officiating. Entombment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 2-7 PM Sunday, February 19, 2023 and 11:30 AM-12:30 PM Monday, February 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Cities Baptist Church or Davison Free Methodist Church, in Walter’s memory.
Walter was born in Saginaw, MI on February 15, 1935, son of the late Wilmer F. and Doris O. (Rambo) Fike. He married Virginia J. Hazen on April 18, 1959 in Flint, MI. Walter proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958, stationed in Yokohama, Japan. He later returned to Japan in 2003 and 2005 with his daughter. Walter retired from General Motors Buick Motor Division in 1992 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Davison Free Methodist Church and attended Twin Cities Baptist Church. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved technology. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Walter is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia J. Fike; daughter, Nancy A. Fike; son, James F. (Jamie L.) Fike; 2 granddaughters, Sophia L. Fike and Cordelia L. Fike; 2 brothers, Donald L. Fike and William A. “Bill” Fike; sister-in-law, Judy Fike; 3 nephews, Stephen (Linda) Fike, Gary (Roberta) Fike and Kevin Fike; 3 nieces, Christine (Brian) Thisse, Keri (Jim) Vaughn and Sara (Wes) Beighley; several great-nephews, great-nieces, many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Doris Fike and brother, Willis Runyon.
