SACKETT, Rodney- of Birch Run, age 50, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 1PM until 7PM and Saturday from 10AM until the time of service. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Rodney was born July 23, 1971, in Saginaw, to the late Ernest and Louvenia (Smith) Sackett. He graduated from Birch Run High School with the class of 1990 and received his mechanic certification from the Universal Technical Institute of Illinois in 1993. On August 10, 1995, Rodney married his childhood best friend, Tracie Skidmore, and together they shared 24 years of marriage. Rodney found joy in driving remote control cars and never missed a U of M Football game. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and furry companion, Blue. Rodney was an amazing father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rodney is forever loved by his children: Kelsie (Jason) Garl and Valerie (Alex) Helpap; Grandchildren: Jace, Zoie, Devrie, Teagan, Tatum, and Jo Avery; Siblings: Larry Sackett, Alan Sackett, Jeff Sackett, Cindy Yuker, and Theresa Martin; Mother of his children and wife of 24 years, Tracie Sackett; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
