CONNELLY, Rev. Douglas Keith – of Davison, MI, age 74, passed away quietly surrounded by family on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Alan Yerke officiating. Private interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1-7 PM Friday, June 16, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Davison Missionary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church.
Doug was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on February 23, 1949, son of the late Rev. Paul and Mary (Woods) Connelly.
Doug was a graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint and earned a Master of Divinity and Theology from Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana. He was an ordained minister in the Missionary Church. He served as Pastor of several churches during his over 50 years of ministry. These include Sugar Grove Church in Goshen, Indiana, Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Cross Church in Flint, Michigan, Parkside Community Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Davison Missionary Church in Davison, Michigan and Evergreen Missionary Church in Lowell, Michigan. He also served as an adjunct professor for Spring Arbor College.
Doug was an accomplished writer, having written over 30 books and Bible study guides. He was in the process of completing a Bible study guide entitled “The Armor of God”.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen; 3 children, Kimberly
(Jeffery), Kevin (Julie) and Kyle; 10 grandchildren; and brother, Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Paul “Ed”.
