Brooks, Jay D. – of Genesee County, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Holiday Winter Village in Frankenmuth. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. An inurnment will take place at a later date.
Jay was born July 19, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Elijah and Rose (Webb) Brooks. Jay's life was one filled with passion, dedication, and love. After serving in the Korean War as a 11th Abn Division Army Sergeant, he found joy and fulfillment in his career as a Tool and Die Engineer for General Motors for 25 years. He married Delores on December 1, 1972, they shared many wonderful memories. Jay was an active member of the Mt. Morris Community Church and North Baptist Church in Flint. His love for music was evident through his participation in the church choir and his proficiency in playing the organ, piano, and trumpet. In his spare time, Jay found solace in woodworking and showcased his skill through the creation of beautiful pieces that will be cherished by his loved ones for generations to come.
