Earl Gordon Cook, age 92, of Corunna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Nelson-House Funeral Home, with Jason Georges officiating. Gordon will be laid to rest at Pine Tree Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
Gordon was born May 15, 1934, in Owosso, the son of Earl and Henrietta (Hutchings) Cook. He was a longtime resident of the area and will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature, and love for the simple joys in life.
Gordon proudly served in The United States Army.
Gordon especially enjoyed riding his bicycle with his dog happily riding along in the basket. He also enjoyed camping with Mildred, riding his scooter, visiting friends, and tinkering in the garage.
On December 26, 1981, Gordon married Mildred Mae Goad in Corunna. Together, they shared many loving years and created a lifetime of memories before Mildred’s passing in 2008.
Gordon was a dedicated employee of Michigan Brick, where he worked for more than 30 years.
Gordon is survived by his children, Shirley Johnson (Dr. John Behm), Terry Swiney, Debra Kay Breese, Diane “Ann” (Edmund) Jabs, Daryl Swiney, and Wayne Todd Swiney; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his sister, Donna (Phil) Borromey; brother-in-law, Richard Jubb along with several other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Mae Cook; his parents; and daughters, Ruby Clay and Tina Swiney, and sister, Alice Jubb.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Emmanuel Baptist Church of Corunna. |
